Hydraulic seals are products that include types such as rod seals, flange packing and U-cups. They are specially designed for applications requiring high pressure such as hydraulic cylinders. It is said to have a variety of orientations and different types.

Here are some things to consider when buying a product in the industry. The diameter of the outer shaft, inner seal and housing bore must be determined. Thickness and radial cross-sectional should also be included in the list of considerations.

Service limits such as operating speed and pressure, vacuum and temperature rating should be handled accordingly. For more information about hydraulic seals, check out here.

There are two categories of industrial products. It is a dynamic and exclusion seal.  A dynamic seal  is utilized in order to put a gap between the moving and non-moving surfaces such as those found in the piston rings applications.

When considering the dynamic seal, it is important to focus on the various dimensions such as the diameter, outer diameter, axial cross-sectional, radial cross section and housing bore.

Exclusion seals are those used to separate contaminants from machine bearings. They eliminate any dirt from the moving shaft. These hydraulic seals can be further sub-classified into the V-ring, scrapers and wipers
