Do you wish to change the SSID or password of your range extender you have recently configured? If yes, then the steps are quite simple. Follow the steps in the same manner as they are discussed.

  1. Connect the extender to the power source using the power adapter.
  2. Turn it on and now connect the extender to the computer either using the wired or wireless connection. In case of wireless connection, connect the computer to the extender current SSID.
  3. Now, open the web browser of your computer and enter mywifiext net in the address bar.
  4. The login page will appear where you need to enter the username and password.
  5. Click ‘Login’.
  6. You will find different options like ‘Netgear extender setup’, ‘Change password or SSID’, ‘Change the band or other settings’. Click on the second option.
  7. You will find the SSID and the current password. Click on ‘SSID’ if you want to change it and ‘Password’ for changing the password.
  8. Enter new SSID twice to confirm.
  9. All the wireless devices will now get disconnected from the extender, thus you need to select the new SSID from the list of networks and enter the password again.
  10. Once connected, you can start accessing the internet as you do earlier.

In case you are not able to open the mywifiext net page, you can enter the IP address of the extender after confirming it from the extender itself.
