Workshop Coordinator Volunteer

Talks & Workshops Programme

Reporting to Pop-up & Collaborations Team

We are looking for volunteers to assist throughout the festival with the smooth running of our Talks & Workshops Series. Ideal candidates are flexible with time and are available for at least 1 full weekend over the 3 weeks of the Festival.

This year’s T&W series engages a range of creative disciplines and covers 3 themes: Questioning Creativity, discussing what it means to be a creative here and now; Own Your Craft, refining skills in your creative field; and Creative Breathing Space, addressing the relationship between creativity and mental health.

This production role includes:

  • Checking in with workshop leader(s) and Workshop Artist Liaisons prior to the event and being ready to assist in any way required
  • Welcoming and briefing workshop participants
  • Keeping the workshop leader to time
  • Offering more information to participants about connected workshops they may enjoy and encouraging engagement with ESAF social media
  • Assisting with clear up after the workshop, with a focus on preparing the space for the next user
  • (Desirable) Documenting the event

This creative production role includes:

  • Meeting and greeting the workshop leader(s) in the space
  • Assisting the leading artist with workshop set up
  • Organising materials and assisting workshop participants when required
  • Assisting with clear up after the workshop, with a focus on helping the leading artist
  • (Desirable) Documenting the event

WALs must have a good knowledge of all cross-department events going on in the space that day and be the artist’s go-to for any queries or session needs.
